We yell at the kids in the morning, and cuddle them in bed

And the house could use some fixin, and the shitbox car,

And we’re balancing laughs and smiles and tears and tantrums, Stresses and messes and farts and medicine
Soccer games, period pains, hoping our rate payments stay the same
Mortgage shackles, maniacal cackles, from kids who have overdosed on chocolate crackles
Beaming smiles and homework answers, broken hearts and loving glances

And we’ll keep our glasses half full, cuddle the kids to sleep at night,
We’ll deal with the morning when it comes, another day another compromise
